Ths issue that just won’t go away. What role will anti-abortion activists play in the 2012 elections? Our own Susan Connolly looked into this contentious issue.
“It is an issue mired in constitutional delegation of legal authority, interpretation of a 200 year-old text and deeply personal, strongly felt religious and political beliefs. Abortion is a key battleground in the war between progressive and conservative thought, often used as a rallying cry by politicians on both sides of the political spectrum. Since the historic case of Roe v. Wade in 1973, abortion has been legal in all 50 U.S. states, and yet, almost 40 years later the conflict is still ongoing.”
